Therapy is about personal growth. We seek to answer two main questions: what can you learn about yourself from the experience you are having and how can you use that insight to move forward. I can guide you through the process of discovering your own strengths, and together we can expand your options so that you can make the best possible decisions. Even if you decide not to change the patterns in your life, you will still have gained a better understanding of yourself and in so doing greater self acceptance. This can translate into peace and harmony in your life.
My specialties include: relationship skills (effective communication, body language congruence, listening skills, boundary setting and assertiveness skills, anger management and conflict resolution skills); anxiety & trauma (including relationship trauma, such as infidelity and domestic violence); depression; spirituality; grief & loss of any kind (including divorce); sexuality; work and career issues and emotional management.
I work to build a meaningful relationship with each client and use a combination of theoretical approaches geared toward your personality and your needs, which I will share with you openly. I am a "straight-shooter," and I will always let you know where I am coming from with my strategy for your progress.
